Amid rising incidents of large-scale, often violent, protests over corruption, pollution and other serious issues, China's judiciary and police have been asked to give top priority to creating a harmonious and stable social environment for the 18th Party Congress in 2012 when there will be a generational shift in party leadership. The message was delivered at the national symposium for secretaries of political and legislative affairs of the Communist Party of China (CPC), held in Beijing, reported China?s official Xinhua news agency Dec 23.
