Discussion --

Although both of these individuals recovered, they were both hospitalized for a quite a while. He Junyao was treated in the hospital for about 25 days and Junior Ouyang could have been hospitalized for up to 61 days. Each was part of a two person cluster of H5N1 cases. He Junyao's 12 year old sister died on October 17, 2005, without being tested for H5N1. Junior Ouyang's mother, Li Juhua, showed symptoms on December 21, 2005 and died 4 days later on December 24, 2005; the same day Junior reported with symptoms. Li Juhua was apparently not tested for H5N1.
