Qingxu County People's Hospital organizes biosafety emergency drill
Taiyuan Daily2025-06-25 06:35Shanxi
Recently, Qingxu County People's Hospital organized a biosafety emergency drill by simulating the spillage of pathogenic microorganism culture dishes to test emergency plans, enhance the emergency response capabilities of staff, and build a solid biosafety defense line.
The drill simulated an accidental drop of a Staphylococcus aureus plate by an operator while transferring it, resulting in a contaminated area with a diameter of 20 cm. After the accident, the "first person to discover" quickly reported it, and another operator cooperated to complete the on-site alert and preliminary disinfection before evacuating. Upon receiving the report, the laboratory director immediately activated the emergency plan.
During the process, the logistics support team quickly deployed first aid kits, 2000mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectants and other supplies, and set up a warning area; the safety management team and the technical support team urgently discussed the characteristics of pathogens and formulated a scientific disposal plan. Subsequently, the safety technicians entered the laboratory wearing protective equipment, checked the scope of contamination, and carried out a second comprehensive disinfection of the contaminated area and equipment. After the disinfection was completed, the staff took samples from the contaminated area, vents and the hands of the operators for inspection. After testing, it was confirmed that the disinfection met the standards and the safety hazards were completely eliminated.
