The drill officially began at approximately 2 PM that afternoon. The scenario involved a ship collision in nearshore waters, resulting in multiple people falling into the water and sustaining injuries. Upon receiving the rescue order, the hospital immediately activated its emergency response plan. The Lingang branch, as the nearest medical facility, was the first to be dispatched, while the Xuhui branch was coordinated to prepare for receiving critically injured patients. Upon arrival at the scene, the rescue team quickly conducted triage and classification, rapidly assessing and categorizing the injured according to the severity of their injuries, and providing emergency treatment. Simultaneously, the drone maintenance and support team operated drones loaded with emergency medical supplies, taking off from the Lingang branch and precisely delivering them to the rescue site, providing logistical support for on-site treatment.
During the drill, a patient with multiple injuries due to pregnancy exhibited signs of traumatic shock and was in critical condition, requiring immediate transfer to a trauma center equipped with a hybrid operating room and comprehensive treatment capabilities. Led by Vice Presidents Zheng Xianyou and Zhou Xiaohui, a hospital-wide comprehensive assessment was conducted across both campuses, and the patient met the criteria for air transport. With ground transportation disrupted, a helicopter became the optimal choice to "open a lifeline." The rescue team quickly secured the patient and connected life support equipment, and a helicopter operated by the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau's Aviation Police Corps took off from the Lingang campus.
Just 20 minutes later, the helicopter arrived at the Xuhui campus, and the injured were directly admitted to the hybrid operating room via a dedicated green channel. A multidisciplinary team was already on standby, seamlessly coordinating emergency surgery and comprehensive treatment, fully demonstrating the "air transport—in-hospital reception—hybrid surgery" treatment chain, ensuring the injured received effective treatment within the golden rescue time.
