Jingchu Net (Hubei Daily Net) News (Correspondents Ouyang Zhihui and Zhang Cuirui) In order to effectively improve the emergency response capabilities of key locations, on December 23, the Chengguan Police Station of the Baokang County Public Security Bureau in Xiangyang City, Hubei Province, in conjunction with the County People's Hospital, organized a practical drill for the smallest emergency unit. The drill aimed to strengthen capabilities through training and promote prevention through combat, and to fully protect the safety of the people seeking medical treatment.

"To do a good job, one must first have the right tools." In the early stages of the drill, police officers, taking into account the characteristics of the hospital, such as its dense population and high flow of people, meticulously explained the usage techniques and precautions for equipment such as riot shields, steel forks, and batons. They also demonstrated emergency response procedures and tactical coordination points on-site for common emergencies such as terrorist intrusions and knife attacks. They guided hospital security guards to learn and practice each step repeatedly, correcting any deviations in their movements to ensure that everyone was proficient in operating various equipment and mastering the basic principles of coordinated operations.

With the sounding of an alarm, the drill officially began. "A rioter, armed with a weapon, attempted to break into the treatment area and injure people!" Upon discovering the danger, hospital security guards immediately sounded the alarm and activated the emergency response plan. The smallest emergency unit members quickly rushed to the scene with riot control equipment, strictly adhering to the principle of "control first, then response," alternating cover and advancing step by step, forming an offensive and defensive formation to maneuver and contain the "rioter." Police officers from the Chengguan Police Station responded quickly to the call and, working closely with the hospital security guards, decisively and lawfully subdued the "rioter." The entire drill was tense yet orderly, smoothly coordinated, and demonstrated significant practical effectiveness.
This practical exercise not only honed the hospital's smallest emergency response unit's "rapid response and effective handling" capabilities but also deepened the "police-medical collaboration and rapid response" working mechanism. A relevant official from the Chengguan Police Station stated that the next step will be to continue focusing on the security needs of key units within the jurisdiction, regularly conduct training and drills for the smallest emergency response unit, and strengthen the social security and prevention network to create a safer, more harmonious, and orderly living and working environment for the public.
