From March 1st to March 8th, the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention jointly carried out avian influenza sampling and surveillance work in five banners: Wushen Banner, Hangjin Banner, Otuoke Banner, Dongsheng District, and Zhungar Banner.
This sampling targeted poultry breeding sites in some banner areas of our city, mainly focusing on monitoring large-scale poultry farms, concentrated poultry farmers and poultry processing and retail markets. Collect environmental samples such as cages, drinking water troughs, feces, and drinking water at monitoring points, and collect blood samples from employees in accordance with regulations.
During the sampling process, the staff actively popularized knowledge about the prevention and control of human avian influenza to the local people, and reminded the public to promptly report to the animal husbandry department if any dead or suspicious poultry is found, and to harmlessly dispose of dead poultry so that they are not sold or processed. , do not eat. Operators of live poultry markets must fully implement food safety management responsibilities, establish records for sellers of live poultry entering the market, and prohibit the sale of live poultry that has not been quarantined in accordance with regulations or has failed to pass the quarantine.
In the next step, the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention will conduct laboratory testing on the collected specimens to further standardize this work, continue to do monitoring and early warning, and provide scientific basis for the government to formulate relevant policies.
