On May 31, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs received a report from the China Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center that an H5 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak occurred in Senyi District, Nagqu City, Tibet Autonomous Region, killing 190 wild birds including brown-headed gulls, and there were no poultry farmers within 3 kilometers of the outbreak site. After the outbreak, the local authorities immediately carried out emergency disposal in accordance with the provisions of the emergency implementation plan, disposed of all dead wild birds harmlessly, and conducted inspections and disinfection of the surrounding environment.
