9 new confirmed cases of human infection with bird flu in mainland

The Health Bureau said that according to the latest notification from the mainland health department, there were 5 new confirmed cases of human infection with H5N6 and 4 confirmed cases of human infection with H9N2 avian influenza in the mainland. The Health Bureau urges residents to avoid contact with poultry and pay attention to personal and food hygiene.
According to the data, among the 5 confirmed cases of human infection with H5N6 avian influenza, 4 were male and 1 female, aged from 28 to 75 years old, 2 were from Liuzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 2 were from Leshan City and Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, The case is from Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province; 2 people died, 2 people are in critical condition and 1 person is in serious condition; all the patients had contact with poultry before they became ill.
Among the 4 confirmed cases of human infection with H9N2 avian influenza, 1 male and 3 females, aged from 3 to 14 years old, were 2 from Huanggang City, Hubei Province, 1 from Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and 1 from Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province. 4 were mildly ill; all had contact with poultry or visited live poultry markets before the onset of symptoms.
Since April 2014, there have been confirmed cases of H5N6 or H9N2 avian influenza in Sichuan, Guangdong, Yunnan, Hubei, Hunan, Anhui, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Jiangsu respectively.
