Hengyang Third People's Hospital conducts emergency drill for influenza A hospital infection outbreak

Rednet News, April 16 (Reporter Chen Hui): In order to further enhance the hospital's emergency response capabilities in response to public health emergencies, strengthen the multi-departmental collaboration mechanism, and ensure the safety of patients and medical staff, Hengyang Third People's Hospital conducted an "Influenza A Hospital Infection Outbreak Emergency Drill" on April 16. This drill simulated a clustered influenza A infection scenario in the hospital, and tested the scientificity, practicality, and coordination efficiency of the emergency plan through actual combat, building a solid line of defense for infectious disease prevention and control.
The drill was led by the Hospital Infection Management Department, with the participation of multiple functional departments and clinical departments. Before the drill, the Hospital Infection Management Department developed a detailed emergency drill script based on the latest domestic and international hospital infection prevention and control guidelines and the actual situation of the hospital.
The drill simulated the acute infectious disease department of the hospital. The background of this drill was "3 influenza A patients were found in the acute infectious disease department". Faced with the sudden situation, the hospital infection management department quickly launched the emergency plan, organized the clinical department, medical department, nursing department, public health office, laboratory department, pharmacy department, logistics support and other departments to urgently link up, and fully launched the hospital infection outbreak emergency response mechanism, covering key links such as case identification, reporting, isolation, disinfection, and material allocation.
During the drill, personnel from each department had clear division of labor and coordinated well, effectively controlling the spread of the source of infection and ensuring the safety of patients and employees.
After the drill, the hospital held a summary and evaluation meeting. The expert team believed that this drill fully demonstrated the hospital's rapid response and comprehensive coordination capabilities in dealing with infection outbreaks, but also exposed some weak links and shortcomings. In response to these problems, the expert team put forward specific improvement suggestions, providing valuable experience and reference for future hospital infection prevention and control work.
Faced with the severe challenges of infectious disease prevention and control, the hospital has always adhered to the principle of "life first" and improved its "quick response, strict control, and precise treatment" capabilities through regular drills, striving to protect the health and safety of doctors and patients and contribute to building a resilient medical system.
