-------------------------------------------------------

I am going to work through the report this morning to update our case list. For instance, instead of the line that adds 72 new cases, there will now be a separate line entry for each person. I should be finished by 12 noon ET January 10.

There were a few cases that I did not have since they were never reported before. Several were in Anhui province and there were a couple more single additions for a total addition of 7 cases. I can only add cases that are announced by a municipality and/or a government media. With today's 2 newly announced cases and yesterday's large report from the Hong Kong CHP, our case list cumulative global total is 932. link This includes all reported cases since the inception of the H7N9 strain of avian flu.

I would like to thank the Hong Kong CHP for providing a more detailed report today after the notification yesterday from the Mainland health authorities.

As to the mainland authorities - well...I am wondering what you people are thinking?

How can you have so many cases in 4 weeks and not officially acknowledge them? Why don't you let your media cover this situation?

It is a human rights violation to deprive the world's citizens of their security. We have a right to know if there is an emerging epidemic.

Look at just one city from December:

21 cases and 5 deaths:
