"It really snowed in Hangzhou!" Yesterday, the coldest day of the year, snow fell in Hangzhou as expected. "Among the patients seeking medical attention, the number of hospitalizations for COPD and asthma patients has increased by 30%, and the number of outpatients with upper respiratory tract infections has increased by at least 20%," said Chen Ye, director of the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. A large proportion of these patients experienced acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease due to influenza virus or respiratory syncytial virus.
According to meteorological information, although this rain and snow will end, temperatures will continue to plummet. This morning and tomorrow morning, most areas will see lows of only -4°C to -1°C, with even lower lows in mountainous areas reaching -8°C to -4°C, accompanied by severe freezing conditions.
