Beware of

A family of 6 went on a trip, and 5 of them were infected with influenza A

According to Zhejiang University Second Hospital, in the fever clinic,a family of six people from a patient went out for a trip, and five of them were infected with influenza A.
At 1 a.m., a woman named Aunt Li (pseudonym), who was in her 50s, came to the fever clinic of Zhejiang University Second Hospital.
"Our whole family went on a trip a week ago. On the second day, I started to have a fever, cough, sore throat, and muscle aches all over my body. I bought a thermometer and measured my temperature, and ]the highest was over 39 degrees Celsius. I endured it for a few days, but the day before yesterday I couldn't stand it anymore, so I went to a local hospital for a chest X-ray, and they said I had pneumonia, and they recommended that I be hospitalized. I was terrified when I heard that, so I quickly flew back to see a doctor. " Aunt Li took out a chest X-ray report, which said "lower left pneumonia."

Dr. Pang learned that Aunt Li had received some treatment locally, but her temperature remained high. Five of the six people who were traveling with her had developed fevers.
Doctor Pang judged that Aunt Li was most likely suffering from a highly contagious respiratory disease, and immediately arranged for her to undergo a routine blood test, relevant viral antigen tests, and a clearer lung CT scan in order to further understand her condition.

The test results showed that Aunt Li had contracted viral pneumonia and important]tested positive for influenza A virus nucleic acid . Now the culprit was found: it was influenza A that ruined the family's trip, which was supposed to be a perfect one.
The doctor at the fever clinic immediately gave her the antiviral drug Mabaloxavir. Within two days, Aunt Li's temperature returned to normal, and her symptoms such as cough and sore throat also improved significantly.
Doctors remind:
Be careful not to delay until it turns into pneumonia

According to Zhejiang University Second Hospital on the 6th,in early January 2025, the number of patients received by the fever clinic of Zhejiang University Second Hospital was 4 to 5 times that of early December 2024 , and the influenza A positivity rate of influenza-like cases (patients with body temperature ≥38°C, accompanied by cough or sore throat)was higher than 30%.
Once influenza A symptoms appear, it is recommended to use antiviral drugs in the early stage (within 48 hours of onset) to alleviate symptoms and shorten the course of the disease. If Aunt Li in the previous article had received antiviral treatment in the early stage of the disease, she would not have developed pneumonia.
