In order to thoroughly implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on emergency management, effectively improve the hospital's emergency response capabilities for various emergencies, strengthen the safety awareness and emergency operation capabilities of cadres and employees, and ensure a rapid and efficient response when emergencies occur, while minimizing losses and harm, the city's medical and health institutions recently held an emergency drill for safety emergencies at the Xinlongze Campus of Beijing Jishuitan Hospital.
The drill was rich in content, covering two major parts: visiting the interactive display area and comprehensive drills.
The interactive display area has set up 10 fire science popularization experiment links, including "smoke and heat environment simulation escape laboratory", "infrared feedback simulation training device for fire extinguisher use", "portable feedback simulation fire hydrant training", "lithium battery puncture and explosion experience device", "electrical fire cause simulation experience", "drunk traffic AR simulation experience", "crowded stampede emergency disposal experience", "electric shock first aid teaching", "emergency safety VR experience area" and "rope technology interactive teaching area". The staff demonstrated experiments such as line short circuit, electric bicycle dissection, and battery puncture on site, vividly and intuitively showing the causes of fire and scientific response methods, and emphasized the importance of daily hidden danger inspection in a "visible and tangible" way. When explaining the use and operation methods of the equipment, the staff was meticulous, attracting medical staff and the public on site to stop and watch. Through simulation demonstrations and interactive experiences, medical staff and the public have improved their safety awareness and self-rescue and mutual rescue capabilities in a simulated environment. At the same time, the hospital staff's understanding of firefighting equipment has been further enhanced, and fire safety awareness has been significantly enhanced.
The comprehensive drill was conducted in the inpatient building of Xinlongze Hospital. The drill simulated a fire caused by a patient randomly discarding a cigarette butt after smoking. The fire spread instantly and thick smoke billowed, seriously threatening the lives of patients and staff in the building. The fire control center in the hospital discovered and verified the fire in time, immediately activated the response mechanism according to the emergency plan, and organized the emergency response team in the hospital to quickly carry out early fire fighting. At the same time, the patients and the public in the building on fire were organized to evacuate in an orderly manner and transfer them safely to the resettlement site. Scene 2 simulated that the staff of the liquid oxygen station in Xinlongze Hospital discovered a fault in the valve of the liquid oxygen storage tank during their daily inspection, resulting in liquid oxygen leakage, and some staff members accidentally frostbite, and the situation was urgent. The hospital quickly activated the emergency plan for proper disposal. This comprehensive drill comprehensively tested and improved the hospital's emergency response plan for emergencies, improved the coordination and cooperation capabilities between departments, strengthened the operating efficiency and emergency combat capabilities of the hospital's emergency command system, and effectively improved the emergency awareness and self-rescue and mutual rescue skills of cadres and employees. Through the full-chain model of "demonstration + experiment + practice", this event has effectively promoted the expansion of the safety concept to a deeper level. During the drill, emphasis was placed on strengthening the ability to respond quickly, and personnel from various departments clearly defined their own responsibilities and tasks when emergencies occurred, ensuring that they could respond quickly and work in an orderly manner when faced with emergencies. At the same time, internal and external response coordination mechanisms were implemented, and various response methods such as telephone, fax, and emergency video conferencing systems were sound. In addition, the implementation effect of the emergency plan was fully evaluated, and problems were summarized and continuously improved through actual emergency drills. This series of measures is of great significance to improving the pertinence and operability of the emergency response process, and ultimately helps to achieve the improvement of system construction, the standardization of management processes, and the overall improvement of the overall emergency response level, so that hospitals can better protect the lives, health and safety of the people.
