Our Correspondent, DinajpurAn infant is suspected to have died of swine flu and one person was tested positive with the pandemic in Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur, according to the district health official sources.

Another pregnant woman is feared to have contracted swine flu.

The child was Shohag, 10, son of Mazed Rahman of village Radhanagar-Lal Dighipara of Rangpur.

The H1N1 infected was identified as Taslima, an 11-month-old daughter of Taslim Ali in Razabasar village.

Swab sample from a 24-year-old pregnant woman has been sent to ICDDR, B but the report is yet to be had, sources said.

Sources at Dinajpur Civil Surgeon's office said Shohag was admitted to the Parbatipur LAMB Hospital on 28 October with severe chest pain. Doctors collected his swab and sent to ICDDR, B without any delay, but he died on October 29 at the hospital before receiving treatment, as the test report was yet to be received.

Taslima was tested positive on October 6 and left for home after recovery on October 22 following the treatment, Dr Motiar Rahman, civil surgeon of Dinajpur Sadar Hospital, said.

Dr Younus Ali of Parbatipur Health Complex asserted that they have sufficient supply of swine flu medicines.

DHAKA, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- A ten-month infant was suspected of having died of A/H1N1 flu in Bangladesh's Parbatipur sub-district of Dinajpur district, some 338 km northwest of capital Dhaka, according to local media on Monday.
Another 11-month-old baby has been tested positive with the pandemic disease and a pregnant woman is feared to have contractedA/H1N1 flu, according to the leading English newspaper The Daily Star.

Swab sample from the 24-year-old pregnant woman has been sent to ICDDRB, Bangladesh's lone specialized center for treatment of diarrhea, but the report is yet to be available, sources said.

Sources at Dinajpur Civil Surgeon's office said the ten-month infant was admitted to the Parbatipur LAMB Hospital on Oct. 28 with severe chest pain. Doctors collected his swab and sent it to ICDDRB without any delay, but he died on Oct. 29 at the hospital before receiving treatment.

The 11-month-old baby was tested positive on Oct. 6 and left for home after recovery on Oct. 22 following the treatment, Dr Motiar Raman, civil surgeon of Dinajpur Sadar Hospital, said.

A 35-year old female flu positive patient died in Dhaka on Aug.31 which was the first fatality the country has had since its first A/H1N1 case was found on June 18
