Child dies of meningitis

A child has died from what health experts say "appears to be" an isolated case of meningitis.
It is understood that the child lived in Aldbury, near Tring, and attended the nursery at Westfield First School, on Durrants Lane, Berkhamsted.
Victoria Mead, a spokesman for the Health Protection Agency, said a child from Hertfordshire was admitted to hospital on May 11 with meningitis and has died.
The Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Health Protection Unit (HPU) and NHS Hertfordshire have contacted local GP practices to make them aware of this case...
