Chikungunya Attacks Pekanbaru Again

Chikungunya was found again in Pekanbaru.
On October 24 2007,Dinkes Provinsi Riau received the report on W1 KLB Suspek Chikungunya in the District of Delima Kecamatan Tampan Kota Pekanbaru.
From investigation was reported that on October 24 2007 was gotten by 30 sufferers and on October 25 2007 it was reported 80 cases.
The team of investigation took 8 samples that will be sent to Balitbang Department of Health RI. Tim also found 5 positive Aedes houses aegypti from 15 houses that were checked.
Dinkes carried out counselling, mass medical treatment, opened the command post, fogging and abatisasi as well as with the community and apparatus the area did 3M. Fogging will be done by 2 times at intervals of a week.
The Chikungunya case in the Riau Province very first was reported in Kelurangan Tangkerang Selatan, Kecamatan Simpang Tiga Kota Pekanbaru in May 2007 with the sufferer totalling 44 people.
From 5 specimens that were taken and sent to Balitbang Department of Health RI, was checked 3 samples and one among them positive.

This illness could be only prevented.
Among them that is the stopping of the proliferation of mosquitoes with encouraged 3M (closed the water channel, drained the water reception, resembled the prevention towards dengue fever dengue fever (DBD).
