Chihuahua - Chihuahua ranks first in cases and deaths from H1N1 influenza at the national level so far this year, according to data contained in the Fifth Report of the Federal Government. In the document released on the official website of the Presidency the Republic which details all the actions taken by the federal government's September 1, 2010 to September 1, 2011, states that Chihuahua was the most deadly entity registered as a result of H1N1 influenza virus. According to federal government statistics, between September 2010 and July 2011 were confirmed 126 cases and 16 deaths caused by influenza virus A (H1N1). The states that showed the highest number of cases during September 2010 to August 2011 were : Chihuahua with 55 cases, 13 cases Federal District and Baja California with 11 cases. The deaths from this new virus occurred in Chihuahua, two in Baja California, two in the Federal District, a death in Zacatecas, one populated and one in the State of Mexico. In its Fifth Report of the Government, referred Calder?n influenza virus surveillance was conducted throughout the country through the Health Units Monitors Influenza (USMI), by sampling 10 percent hospitalized cases and 10 percent of outpatients who met the operational definition of ILI (influenza-like illness), SARI (Severe Acute Respiratory Infection) and ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome)
