Senior leader and BJP MP Chandulal Sahu?s son Raju Sahu on Thursday morning succumbed to swine flu in Raipur, taking the toll of the victims in Chattisgarh to 34.



As per reports, BJP MP Chandulal Sahu?s son Raju Sahu succumbed to swine flu while undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Raipur early on Thursday morning.

BJP MP Chandulal Sahu had admitted his son in a private hospital on September 26 and swab was sent for H1N1 infection test but his reports was received four days back in which he was tested positive for swine flu.

Swine flu has claimed 45 lives till October this year in Chhattisgarh, Health Minister Ajay Chandrakar informed the state Assembly today.

In a written reply to a question by Congress MLA Arun Vora, Chandrakar said, "As many as 930 samples of suspected patients were sent for swine flu confirmation out of which 218 were tested positive of H1N1 virus till October in 2015. Of them 45 people died due to the deadly virus".

Swine Flu: With nearly 52 deaths and over 240 confirmed cases of H1N1 virus infections during the year, the disease created a record of sorts, setting alarm bells ringing in health department.
However, the unprecedented rise in H1N1 deaths surpass the figures of 2014. The increased awareness about the disease also led to an unprecedented demand for H1N1 tests and many private labs across Chhattisgarh made a killing, charging customers high rates, for most part of the year, as state government stepped in to regulate test prices only towards the fag end of the year.
