Cheshire Home, Chung Hom Kok released: the hospital ward of two men and a female ward, from July 21 onwards, three male patients (aged from 44 to 81 years) and two female patients (aged from 59 to 61 years old) gradually developed fever and flu symptoms. A patient has been transferred to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital for isolation and treatment, the remaining four patients admitted to hospital for treatment and treated in isolation and in stable condition. The spokesperson of Cheshire Home Chung Hom Kok made the following announcement today (July 31):
Three male patients (aged from 44 to 81) and two female patients (aged from 59 to 61) of two male wards and one female ward of Cheshire Home Chung Hom Kok had presented with fever and flu symptoms since July 21. Appropriate viral tests have been arranged and the result of a 49-year-old male patient was positive to H1N1.
One of the patients has been transferred to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital and the other four patients are staying in Cheshire Home for treatment.
All patients are under isolation and in stable condition.
The hospital will continue to provide treatment to the remaining four patients and closely monitor their conditions.
Admission and visiting to the ward concerned are suspended for the time being. Infection control measures of the ward have already been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are under close surveillance.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.

The spokesperson of Cheshire Home Chung Hom Kok (CCH) gave the following update today (August 2) regarding an earlier announcement on confirmation of Human Swine Influenza (HSI) cases in three wards:
One more male patient (aged 58) in one of the wards has tested positive for HSI.
Five patients in total are so far confirmed with HSI.
They are being treated under isolation and all are in stable condition.
There will be no admission to and discharge from the concerned ward for the time being; visiting is also suspended. Infection control measures in the ward have been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are under close surveillance.
The cases have been reported to Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for follow up.
