Check your preps!

Re: Check your preps!

Over the holidays I went to make some oatmeal rasin cookies. My oats were stored unopened and sealed in the familiar round cardboard containers. I was surprised to find the oats had a bad case of mold. They had been stored in a slightly damp but not wet basement.

Re: Check your preps!

Last night I came down with some sort of sinus infection. Yes I realize that is not news. What is, is when I went to get some OTC medication for it out of the medicine cabinet it was all out of date. They got chucked in the trash. Granted taking a two and a half year old Benadryl may have done me more good than suffering through a sleepless night but I decided not to. So one of my things to do today is check the expiration dates on all OTC medication and get what I need updated as quickly as possible.

I could have sworn I took care of this little task just this last summer. When was the last time everyone checked the experation dates on their meds, food and other time sensitive supplies?
