3 suspected cases of Encephalitis reported

PANCHKULA: Three suspected cases of Japanese Encephalitis have been reported at General Hospital (GH), Sector 6, here. The hospital has referred all three kids to PGI, Chandigarh. A GH pediatrist said they had taken the children's samples, but the report was yet to be received.
On Wednesday, three kids in the age group of six to eight years of Panchkula's Hangoli, Chandimandir and Rampura Surdi were admitted to the hospital, where doctors had advised Japanese Encephalitis diagnostic test. The children were also asked to get their serological tests done at PGI. General Hospital medical superintendent Usha Gupta refused to comment on the disease, as the final report was yet come. She, however, said as the children's condition was critical, they were referred to PGI.
Doctors said its suspected cases have been reported after a few years. Three years ago, two cases were reported in Ambala.
