22 confirmed hospitalizations, including seven who died...5 of the surviving and one of the seven who died had underlying chronic medical conditions...
as of 6 May 2009- in US-
35 hospitalizations in 16 states...2 in Texas have died...with underlying medical conditions...ages (hospitalized) range from 6 months- 53 years...
other countries...4 hospitalized with no deaths....
findings: 1- % of patients requiring hospitalization appears higher than would be expected during typical influenza season;
2- age distribution for those hospitalized with novel A H1N1 is different than for those hospitalized for seasonal flu...which typically is for those less than yo/ adults greater than 65 yo/ and persons with chronic health issues...
H1N1 hospitalized in US and Mexico seeing high number 30-44 years old..."
