For clarity, what are the lines? The blue is apparently the "real" numbers, but what is the red?

twoolf, I think perhaps the title is not right on that graph, as it really represents the cases 'confirmed by labs, often after many days of delay'. It doesn't really represent the chronological development of cases.

Not unless the CDC starts releasing more detailed data - with backdating included, can we make a graph which will give us the angle of the slope accurately.

Hey, ya use what ya got. I wish I could get the data for date of onset of symptoms for the confirmed cases. That might be a little more informative.
