by Byron Khalil Tuesday, January 5th 2021
ANNISTON, Ala. — Alabama doctors are starting to see more cases of people getting reinfected with COVID-19.
"We know that there are patients that are getting reinfected," Dr. George Crawford with the RMC Hospital Board said. "This is not like the measles where you get it one time and you're done."
Doctors at RMC Hosptial in Anniston are seeing more cases of COVID-19 reinfections.
Some patients are coming back to the hospital with worse symptoms than when they initially contracted COVID-19.
"If they were a level two before, they may be a level three and require ICU admission," Crawford explained.
RMC has had about one dozen COVID-19 patients that have been reinfected.
Overall, doctors believe these are rare cases.
However, it's a conversation that doesn't come without some debate...
