Cantaloupes sold in North York, Canada recalled

Customers who purchased cantaloupes at a North York grocery store are being are being warned the fruit may be contaminated with salmonella.
The cantaloupes were sold on Sept. 12 at the Food Basics at 2452 Sheppard Ave. E., near Victoria Park Ave. They were unwrapped and had no lot code sticker, UPC or product name on the individual melons.
The retailer, Metro Ontario Inc., has voluntarily recalled the affected product and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a health hazard alert about the possible contamination, although there have been no reported illnesses associated with the product.
Food contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled, the agency said, but eating it could lead to salmonellosis...more from the source.
