Third zika case confirmed in Canaries
A third case of the zika virus has been confirmed in the Canary Islands, the Department of Health has revealed.
Canary Islands - 13.04.2016 - The latest case, a 37 year old woman who spent a month recently in South America, comes just four weeks after the first two cases in the Canaries were reported by the health authorities to the Spanish Ministry of Health under the new compulsory notification procedure. No details concerning the identities of the three women, all of whom had been to South America shortly before developing their symptoms, or their condition have been released, except that they are not pregnant.
