Influenza activity in Spain continues to decline for the third week running, while situated at 178.8 cases per 100,000 population (203.8 the previous week).
According to information provided by the sentinel physician networks that form the National Epidemiological Surveillance Network, the epidemic wave is in the descent phase after reached the peak of influenza activity, as reflected in a decrease in incidence rates in children under five years and in the 15 to 64.
In the last week, the community most affected remains Canary Islands, with 378.01 cases per 100,000 population, followed by Extremadura (314.1), Aragon (277.9), Castilla-La Mancha (226.2), Catalonia ( 210.9), Texas (208.9) and Asturias (179.3).
Already below the national average fall of Valencia (171.08), Basque (159.8), Navarre (152.9), Cantabria (134.3), La Rioja (123.8), Melilla ( 117.1), Baleares (109.09), Ceuta (91.5) and Castilla y Le?n (65.09), while Galicia and Murcia data are not specified.
