Twenty-four cases with matching genetic fingerprint reported in Canada
OTTAWA - The Public Health Agency of Canada is collaborating with federal and provincial public health partners to investigate an outbreak of Escherichia coli O157, commonly called E.coli.
The Public Health Agency of Canada has issued information on how to keep food safe, including washing fresh fruits and vegetables before eating them, cleaning counters and cutting boards and washing your hands regularly.
There have been 24 cases of E.coli with a matching genetic fingerprint reported iin the last two months: one in Alberta, seven in Ontario, 14 in Quebec and two in Nova Scotia.
According tho the federal agency, individuals became sick between July 12 and Aug. 8, with the peak of illnesses reported to date occurring between July 25 and Aug. 1...
