Interim Guidance - Avian Influenza A(H7N9) Virus
Infection Prevention and Control Guidance for Acute Care

The Public Health Agency of Canada (the Agency) has developed this document to provide infection prevention and control (IPC) guidance to healthcare organizations and healthcare workers (HCWs) for the management of patients presenting to healthcare facilities in Canada, who have travelled from China and are suspected or confirmed to have Avian Influenza A(H7N9) infection.

The content of this guidance has been informed by technical advice provided by members of the Agency?s Infection Prevention and Control - Expert Working Group. This guidance is based on current, available scientific evidence and is subject to review and change as new information becomes available.
