Community college staffs trained for emergencies
Thursday, July 10, 2008

Ventura County's three community colleges are the first in the state to meet federal and state requirements for emergency training, according to state Chancellor Diane Woodruff.

Moorpark, Oxnard and Ventura colleges have been training all their employees how to deal with a campus emergency.

The training covers natural disasters, terrorism and pandemic outbreaks.

The training, mandated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, was developed by the state community college system and the Governor's Office of Emergency Services. The training must be completed by 2009.
