Sacramento College Student Diagnosed With Tuberculosis

SACRAMENTO (CBS/AP) ? Health officials are asking 150 students at a Sacramento college to be tested for tuberculosis after their classmate was diagnosed with an active form of the disease.

Sacramento County Public Health and American River College completed tuberculosis skin tests for 48 students and staff at the college main campus and the Natomas Center satellite campus.
The testing was conducted due to the diagnosis of a student with active TB in mid-November.
Five people tested positive for exposure to TB. The health department says they'll be further evaluated and offered preventative treatment.
