Current Bird Flu Situation

The current risk to the public in from the H5N1 bird flu outbreak in wild birds, poultry, wild mammals, and livestock in California and the U.S. is considered to be low. At this time, no people or cattle in California have tested positive for H5N1 bird flu. CDPH is working with local, state, and federal partners to monitor H5N1 in farm animals and people who work closely with poultry and cattle. Please check back frequently as information will be updated as it becomes available.
