Late yesterday September 24, with a case positive for influenza A/H1N1 die.

Doctors at the Gia Dinh People Hospital said that the patient, 30, was brought to the hospital on September 21 with flu symptoms. Suspecting that this man was infected with swine flu, doctors immediately treated him by Tamiflu. However, his health turned bad very quickly, with pneumonia and respiratory problems and died on September 24.


The test performed by the HCM City Pasteur Institute confirmed that the man was positive to A/H1N1 virus.


Notably, this patient were paralysed at legs and was overweight (80kg).


To date, Vietnam has had 11 dead cases related to swine flu, including four in HCM City. Most of the patients suffered from chronic diseases.


The Health Ministry reported to have 203 new cases of A/H1N1 flu on September 24, raising the total cases to 7839.
