More children are killed by respiratory infection
In Cordova, until last July killed at least 26 children younger than 5 years for that reason. In 2008 was 11.

The number of children under 5 years who died in Cordova so far this year, particularly in the past two months, due to ARI grew by an alarming rate, according to information received from different sources this newspaper pediatric.
Deaths through the end of last July climbed by 136 percent over the same period last year, confirmed to La Voz del Interior, the former secretary of Health and the Municipality of Cordova neonatologist, Medardo Avila Vazquez.
"This year killed at least 26 children from 0 to 5 years until the end of July by acute respiratory infections, while in 2008 over the same period 11 died on the same grounds," the former city official, based on data comparison of infant deaths arising from such diseases.
Of all the boys who died this year, the vast majority (17 or 18) were younger than 12 months, according to data provided by Avila Vazquez.
In addition, 25 deaths occurred between June and July, while in the same months of 2008 there were only seven deaths of children under 5 years, appropriated the former city official.
This newspaper tried to consult the Ministry of Health of the Province, without response.
