GARDAI are investigating after the man who was found naked and badly injured under the stairs of a property in which he was staying in the early hours of Friday morning has died in hospital on Christmas Eve.
He has been named locally as Brian Reynolds, aged in his 40s, who owned Kits Stop N Shop on the Rathmullen Park area of Drogheda.

A number of men broke into a property where he was staying in the Rathmullen Park area of Drogheda, Co Louth, and allegedly attacked him with hammers.

The savage attack is believed to be linked to the discovery of a large quantity of stolen cigarettes in the town earlier in the week...
