Covid-19 in Bulgaria: Death toll passes 100, total 1491 active cases

The death toll among people in Bulgaria who had tested positive for Covid-19 is 102, while there are a total of 1491 active cases, the national operational headquarters said on May 15.

In the past 24 hours, 1608 samples were tested for Covid-19 and 38 produced a positive result.

Counting in those who have died and those who have recovered from the virus, this brings the total of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Bulgaria to 2138.

May 17 (BTA) - The confirmed cases of coronavirus in
Bulgaria are 2211, summed up at a briefing on Sunday morning
Prof. Todor Kantardzhiev, Director of the National Centre for
Infectious and Parasitic Diseases and a member of the National
Coronavirus Taskforce.

There are 36 new cases registered in the past day. A total of
240 medical staff members are infected.

Nearly 600 people have been cured. There have been three deaths
in the past 24 hours, thus making the total death toll 108 .

2235 in total are the cases of COVID-19 so far in our country. The new infected are distributed by districts as follows:

Blagoevgrad 5,

Pazardzhik 2,

Yambol 2 and

Plovdiv 1.

The infected person in Plovdiv is a doctor. Another 14 people have been cured in the last 24 hours, a total of 612. Two people have died in the last 24 hours, a total of 110 so far. These are two men aged 77 and 69.

Only 6 new proven cases of COVID-19 per day from 443 samples taken. Four of those tested for established coronavirus were hospitalized.

The total number of infected people in our country is 2433 people.

The National Operations Headquarters provided up-to-date data on the situation with the coronavirus in the country during the regular morning briefing. 17 new positive probes have been identified. The total number of infected in our country reached 2460.

11 of the new cases are in Sofia, and three are in medical institutions. There are 3 cases in Shumen, 2 new ones in Pazardzhik, in Yambol - 1.

There are no new cases of children, but there is an infected nurse from Yambol. 32 are the new cured. Their number once again exceeds the number of new infections and confirms the trend from last week.

The total number of cured is 912. After two consecutive days without victims, there are now 3 new deaths of women with concomitant diseases - a 70-year-old woman in Plovdiv with an ulcer, a 74-year-old woman in Sliven with diabetes and a 73-year-old woman in Alexandrovska Hospital with Oncological Disease. The average age of K-19 deaths in Bulgaria is 65.6 years.

2,499 are the total cases of COVID-19 registered in Bulgaria. 1064 people have already been cured.

256 are the medical staff who were diagnosed with the new coronavirus. A new case was found in the driver of an ambulance from CSMP - Sofia.

During the past 24 hours, only 6 new cases of coronavirus were found in Bulgaria, three of them were hospitalized. This was announced by the National Operational Headquarters.

The total number of infected in our country is 2519. 346 samples were made yesterday by PCR method.

Twenty five new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours from 1174 PCR tests, the head of the coronavirus task force, Prof. Ventsislav Mutafchiyski said at the daily briefing on June 4. Seven were hospitalised.

Eight of the latest cases are in Sofia, 7 in Pazardzhik, 3 in Yambol, 2 in Sliven, 2 in Razgrad, 1 in Plovdiv, 1 in Vidin and 1 in Rousse.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the country is 2585, women being infected more than men.

Of the total, 141 are in hospitals, 8 of them are in intensive care.

The active cases are 1116.

There is a new case of a child, a 17 year old from Sofia.

Two more medical professionals tested positive for the virus over the past 24 hours: two doctors, from Plovdiv and from Sliven. The total number of medical staff infected with the virus is now 270.

The death toll has risen to 147, including a 68 year old man who died last night in Blagoevgrad.

SOFIA, June 24 (Xinhua) -- The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria topped 4,114 after a sharp rise in the last 24 hours, official figures showed on Wednesday.

The country confirmed 130 new COVID-19 cases, the second highest daily increase since Bulgaria reported its first COVID-19 case on March 8, the health ministry said.

In the past 24 hours, a patient died, bringing the nationwide death toll to 208, while 2,217 patients have recovered so far, the ministry said.
