1541 people are the COVID-19 infected in the country, of which there are 53 newly registered cases. 13-2 people were tested for the past day. So far, a total of 46,510 have been tested. There are 12 active areas. This was made clear at a regular briefing at the National Operations Headquarters this morning.

Bulgarian doctor, 43, dies of Covid-19

A 43-year-old doctor, Iliana Ivanova, died in hospital in the Bulgarian town of Sliven after being in intensive care for treatment of Covid-19.

Dr Ivanova’s death, the 69th in Bulgaria of a patient who had tested positive for Covid-19, was announced on May 2.

She had worked in the infectious diseases ward of the hospital in Sliven, the announcement said.

To date, 174 medical personnel in Bulgaria have tested positive for Covid-19...

The total number of laboratory confirmed infections in the country reached 1, 778, said the National Coronavirus Taskforce.

Assoc. Prof. Dimo Dimov from the Taskforce noted that there are four new cases of infected children between the ages of two and
15. There are also nine new cases of infection among medical staff. A total of 18 people have been newly cured.

Sofia, May 10 (BTA) - Bulgaria has 1,965 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of 17:00 hrs on Sunday, including 10 new cases from this day, according to Health Ministry figures.

A total of 91 patients have died and 444 have recovered completely.

A total of 385 patients are in medical care, including 58 in intensive care.

Three of the new cases are among medical staff and thus infected medics add up to 209 or 11 per cent of all cases.
