The Brookings County Pandemic Preparedness Coordination Committee has launched a new Web site, www.bereadybrookings.com, to help people prepare for, respond to, and recover from man-made or natural disasters.

It includes information on how to build a disaster-readiness kit, how to make plans, and how to find out what others in the community are doing to prepare for, respond to, and recover from a disaster.

Families or individuals who do not have access to the Internet can call South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service Sun Grant specialist Kim Cassel, at 696-7873, or Extension Family and Consumer Sciences educator for Moody County Donna Bittiker at 997-2469 for help to build your kit and make your disaster communication plan.
