Northern Health warns of potential measles exposure at Montney church

​Northern Health is advising residents of the Fort St. John and Montney area of a potential measles exposure.

Health officials say the potential exposure happened on January 22 at the Montney Mennonite Church located on 12537 256 Road.

Northern Health says those who visited the church between 10 am and 2 pm may have been exposed to the virus, and to monitor for symptoms if exposed.​..

BC CDC warns of two possible measles exposure locations in Fort St. John

​The BC Centre for Disease Control has identified two new possible measles exposure locations in Fort St. John.

The health agency said anyone who visited McDonalds Restaurant on the Alaska Highway from 1:00pm to 3:45pm on March 17, may have been exposed to measles.

The BC CDC said the other possible exposure site is the Home 2 Suites Hotel on 111th Street, on March 17.

The BC CDC has not reported a new case of the measles in Northeast BC since February 26th.

The health agency says the measles is still circulating in the North Peace Region.​..

Potential exposures related to travel-acquired measles case in Nanaimo

Island Health has today confirmed a single measles case in the Greater Nanaimo region.

Island Health Public Health is following up directly with individuals who are known to have been exposed to the case at specific locations. The risk to the broader public is considered low.

However, if you were at the following locations during the time listed, you may have been exposed to measles:

Woodgrove Centre on July 12 between 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. – specifically Lululemon, Booster Juice and SportChek. If you were not in one of these specific stores during the time noted, the risk to you is extremely low
Beban Park Golf Course – indoor check-in area on July 12 between 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m...
