BREMERTON, Wash. -- Carl Uzzell is one of 13 Puget Sound Naval Shipyard employees volunteering in Japan.

The group of radiation specialists left Wednesday to help out with the U.S. Navy’s Humanitarian Response. They will check radiation levels while the fleet hands out blankets, water and food.

Roberta Phinney-Uzzell is proud and horrified all at once....
