In six months, swine flu killed already 4 times more than in the whole year of 2011


Brazil registered from the beginning of the year at least 120 deaths as a result of the pig flu, according to lifting done by the State in the whole Country. At least 159 persons died in the Country in this year victims of the pig flu. Country registers 210 deaths for the virus Influenza H1N1


The Ministry of Health registered this year 210 deaths of patients with the virus Influenza H1N1 in the whole country. The fact refers to the period of January up to the last day 21 of July. The biggest number of fatal victims of the disease is concentrated in the South regions (134) and South-east (57). You gather, two regions, which more cold climate makes easy the transmission of the virus, concentrate 91 % of the deaths. The Middle West registers nine deaths. The Northern and Northeast regions, five each.

Epidemic of H1N1 in Brazil is discarded by Minister

The Minister of the Health, Alexandre Padilha, affirmed again that Brazil has not risk of epidemic of flu H1N1 us been of the South, even already having denied this possibility of epidemic in last week. This year 1.762 cases of flu A, concentrated on the South, on Sao Paulo and on Minas Gerais, in accordance with the informations released by the Ministry. Altogether, 210 deaths were registered by the disease. Regarding the vaccines, the Minister affirmed that Brazil reached the mark of predicted vaccination, which did not happen in other countries. It pointed out still that the situation of epidemic that is happening in this year is quite different from the outbreak of 2009. Padilha also affirmed that more vaccines will be ordered to the states that to need of reinforcements, me them destined, only, for the groups of risk defined by the World-wide Organization of Health.

Ministry of Health reinforces direction for use of oseltamivir in places with high circulation of the H1N1

Brasilia ? In 2012, the total of accrued cases of the week epidemiol?gica 01 up to 29 referring to the period of 01/01/2012 to 21/07/2012, is of 11.232 cases of Respiratory Sharp Serious Syndrome. In the week epidemiol?gica 26/2012 the biggest number of serious cases was registered in the period (It imagines 1).

New report confirms tendency of fall in the number of deaths for flu A

The Ministry of Health registers 254 deaths of patients for infection with the virus Influenza H1N1 from January up to 29 of last July. An up-to-date report obtained in Friday (3) for the Agency Brazil confirms the tendency of fall of the number of deaths in the last weeks.

The peak of the number of deaths for influenza A (H1N1) ? pig flu, the infection provoked by the virus, took place in the 25th week of the year, between the days 17 and 23 of June, when 46 persons died. In three next weeks, the total of deaths fell, successively, for 36, 28 and 18. Since there are still deaths in investigation, these numbers must suffer alterations in the near days.

Of 254 deaths checked in the country, 154 (60,6 %) took place in the South Region and 70 (27,6 %), in the South-east Region. The Middle West registered 17 deaths. The Northeast had seven. And the North, six.

When They was with bigger number of dead men (72) for the virus, Saint Catarina does not register new deaths from the day 23 of July. Rio Grande do Sul also already detected a tendency of fall of the level of mortality of the disease.

The total of deaths occurred in 2012 corresponds, up to the moment, to 12,3 % of the total checked in 2009, when 2.060 persons died in Brazil. The end of the pandemia of the disease was decreed in August of 2010 by the World-wide Organization of the Health (WHO).

Lifting of the Ministry of Health pointed which half of the dead patients this year in Saint Catarina received the antiviral oseltamivir known by the trade name Tamiflu, more than six days after the appearance of the symptoms.
