The Baixada Santista can count the first death by influenza H1N1. Sirlandi Maria dos Santos, 31 years, died last Monday (13), at the Hospital of the North-west, in Santos, suspected to have contracted the virus popularly known swine flu. The award to certify that the cause of death must be shipped by Death Verification Service (SVO), the Government of the State, at least 30 days.
According to the Office of the Secretary of State for Health, the SVO is awaiting the results of laboratory tests of the Adolfo Lutz Institute and also of Pathology exams. As the patient lived in St. Vincent, the outcome of the report will be sent to her home town.
If confirmed the death of Sirlandi by H1N1, the case will be assigned and counted by Vincent, despite the woman have directed and died in a hospital unit of Saints.
