Health confirms first death for H1N1 in DF in 2018


The Federal District Health Department confirmed on Wednesday (11) the death of the first person in DF, this year, a victim of the H1N1 virus. According to the briefing, the 54-year-old patient died at the hospital in Ceilandia. Two other cases, one from a child in ?guas Lindas de Goi?s - who came to the DF - and a baby from Brasilia, evolved to cure. The Health Department reported that in 2017 no cases of the disease were registered. He said only that a suspicion was recorded, but discarded later. In addition to these confirmations, 35 other suspected cases are followed up. The ministry said it is taking preventive measures against the virus, with awareness campaigns. The guidelines are to wash your hands thoroughly, keep airy environments and avoid large crowds.

A 35-year-old woman died of a H1N1 flu after being diagnosed with an allergic condition and a virus. According to the family, Suelen Leandro sought treatment at UPA Bangu, in the West Zone, several days in a row, with a high fever, body aches and difficulty breathing. Every time, she was told to go home. Five days after the first symptoms, Suelen was hospitalized in a serious condition at the Albert Schweitzer State Hospital in Realengo, with suspected pneumonia. On the same day, doctors suspected it could be H1N1, and with difficulty breathing, Suelen was transferred to the ICU, where she remained intubated for another four days, until her death.
