Immediately after confirmation, the Mato Grosso Institute for Agricultural Defense (Indea) initiated disease eradication protocols. A sanitary barrier was established on the affected property to monitor and control the transit of animals, equipment, and materials that may be contaminated.

As a preventive measure to avoid the virus spreading to commercial productions or other domestic livestock, authorities carried out the sanitary slaughter of all birds on the premises. In addition, the facilities underwent a rigorous technical disinfection process.
