Wilfredo D?az, director of the Epidemiology Unit of the health (beings) of El Alto Regional Service, announced yesterday that a 67-year-old person died due to human H3N2 Influenza Virus, this being the first case registered in the country.
According to the medical report, the deceased with H3N2 was hospitalized at the sacred heart of Jesus Hospital with another condition, reason why, having been infected with seasonal flu, the complication of its main organs resulting in his death occurred.
'When we speak of H3N2 means that the A/H1N1 flu is currently in process of mutation, reason by which was made a laboratory study, identifying the seasonal flu of the deceased person corresponds to a mutation of the above influenza,' said the Manager.
Also reported the deaths of three children due to complications in his paintings of pneumonia and the neglect of their parents.
Diaz also that, in general, in identified epidemiological week 21, registering a rise of 36 percent in cases of acute respiratory infections and a 25% increase in pneumonia, this with respect to the same management last season.
