Agriculture and Forestry Minister Nihat Kabil, who also took part in the event said that Bulgaria conducted a responsible policy in the fight against bird flu.
The lab has been opened through the cooperation of the US embassy to Bulgaria, the US agriculture department and the US Agency for International Development (USAID), Bulgarian news agency BTA reported.
Lab equipment has been provided by the programme for fight against bird flu, funded by USAID. The programme is worth $400 000 and will be finished by April.
