Red Cross offering flu preparedness training
September 24, 2009
The American Red Cross Southern Tier Chapter is collaborating with Binghamton University?s Decker School of Nursing in training a group of 20 nurses, who will join with other Red Cross instructors to conduct pandemic flu preparedness trainings at area businesses, civic groups and faith communities in October and November.
The Red Cross is offering a presentation series at no charge, but is appealing for donations to help offset expenses. Donations may be made by mailing a check to the American Red Cross, 620 E. Main St., Endicott, NY 13760, or online at www.southerntierredcross.org.
The presentation, which lasts about an hour, aims to dispel myths, instill habits to quell the spread of the flu and what to have on hand at home. To request an on-site presentation or for information about community presentations available to smaller groups and individuals, visit www.southerntierredcross.org, e-mail pandemicflu@southerntierredcross.org or call (607) 785-7207.
