At least 100 people have been hospitalized with suspected food poisoning with a dozen others in serious condition, in India's northern Bijnor district in Uttar Pradesh state. The incident took place at a wedding in Bhojpur village of the district, where people fell sick after eating the food. A team of officials, including the Chief Medical Officer of the district, has been sent to the village to look into the matter. According to the Additional District Magistrate, a team of the Special District Magistrate and Chief Medical Officer along with the deputy CMO have gone to the village and have sealed the food, which had been served to the guests at the wedding, and have sent it for sampling The victims are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bijnor. Those who have been admitted, 12 are being said to be in critical situation.
