Natitingou, 06 Nov.2018 (ABP) -The head departmental department of public health and traditional medicine of the Atacora Departmental Health Department Dr. Salifou Sourakatou, took stock of the epidemiological surveillance activities in the department, told Agence Benin Presse that 436 suspected cases of meningitis, 33 cases of measles and 25 cases of yellow fever were among others recorded in the department from 1 January to 30 September 2018.

According to the doctor, 25 suspected cases of yellow fever were recorded during the same period in the department. Speaking of the management of the outbreak of Lassa haemorrhagic fever that shook the department this year 2018, the head of public health in Atacora, reported that out of the 08 cases recorded, 04 died with large capitalization in the management of Lassa virus outbreaks.
