Health authorities announced this Sunday, May 24, 2020 the discovery of new confirmed cases of Coronavirus. According to the new assessment available on the government site, Benin goes from 135 to 191 positive cases.

As of May 23, 2020, Benin has a total of 191 confirmed cases with 106 people on treatment, 82 people cured and 03 deaths. 56 new cases were therefore added to the count.

Over the period from May 3 to 23, 2020, the following were carried out:

- 13,932 PCR tests

- 13992 Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDT)

In Benin, new confirmed cases of coronavirus have been recorded. The announcement was made on the official website of the Government.

Previously at 191, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus now increases to 208, or 17 new cases. The President of the National Association of Municipalities of Benin (ANCB), Mayor Luc S?tondji ATROKPO proceeded this Tuesday 02 May 2020 in Lokossa, to the opening of a training workshop for Communication officers from several municipalities of the Benin on nutrition in the context of the Coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19).

Funded by the World Bank through the Early Childhood Nutrition and Development Project, this 3-day workshop aims to give local communicators the real and the right information not only relating to the Covid-19 pandemic but also to context-appropriate nutrition to strengthen the immune system. What will equip them to better inform the populations at the base.

"This is an opportunity that we offer to our municipalities to make them able to give real and good information to the populations on this virus whose fatality rate is very high" declared the President of the ANCB Luc S?tondji Atrokpo.

Note that the workshop is held in the context of the implementation of an agreement signed between the ANCB and the Nutrition and Early Childhood Development Project (PNDPE), funded by the World Bank, coordinated by the Permanent Secretariat of the Food and Nutrition Council (SP-CAN), and implemented by local NGOs in 48 municipalities across the country.
